Dj Qu is the new breed of American dj / producers that we have heavily support ever since his first feature interview on K / D. Since then Qu has enjoyed seeing his profile raise with lots of coverage online from magazines & blogs hotly anticipating his next releases and international promoters from Berlin, to Paris to London wanting to book the in demand dj for headline slots. check here for his Louche podcast and here for his honest RA Exchange to gain background knowledge.
The obvious observation of his music could be misconstrued as being hard but to the more enthusiastic listener you can hear the playfulness, the humour, the feeling of an artists respecting dearly his past but making waves his on way looking forward. The other reason we approached Qu to kick off the series was the pure and simple fact that music is his life, and this happiness enriches his persona which resonates if you meet him. He is a real decent, down to earth dude, that does not swagga around like he could and testimony to this on this last UK trip Qu excitingly mentioned the day job is no more and music is the full time, all day every day so expect some good and great things from the new breed of New Jersey house producer prepped to enter the history books of underground American dance culture.
Qu will now be focusing on more releases on his Strength Music label which has seen releases by stable of new school American producers leaving there mark from Dj Qu, Jus Ed, Fred P and Joey Anderson o name a few. So ladies and gents K / D Keep It Deep welcome you to enjoy our maiden voyage into online podcasts for all you geeks out there and we aim to nurture and expose good music, hopefully every two weeks, so expect some local UK heads mixing it up with more recognized international names.
